Flashing your BIOS with a bootable CD

Here's a quick howto. I think it would probably be much easier if you'd just use a 2.88 MB floppy image which I think is supported as well. Also be aware that flashing your BIOS from a CD is not supported by most vendors and thus might even void your warranty. But hey, at least you won't need to install Windows.

bios upgrade leads to resume problems

I could not resume from standby anymore after upgrading the bios on my notebook. Turns out I just had to reset the hard disk password in the BIOS settings. The BIOS somehow forgot to unlock the hard disk during resume after the update. Removing it and setting it again fixed the problem.
